On April 22, 2011, the Beach Theatre, with the help and support of Bruce Springsteen and Emerging Pictures, is holding a fundraiser to raise money for the restoration of our very own historic theatre. Having been built in 1939, there are various restoration projects that we'd like to take on and this fundraiser will allow some of them to happen while helping us keep our doors open. 100% of the money raised will go to our theatre.
"Continuing a tradition of support to community-based, independent cinemas, Bruce Springsteen and Columbia Records have once again partnered with [Emerging Cinemas] to offer a widely acclaimed Springsteen film for charitable screenings across the country."
"From April 22 to May 3, 'The Promise: The Making of Darkness On The Edge of Town' will receive a special theatrical run only at Emerging Pictures’ network of community-based cinemas, performing arts centers and independent art-houses as a benefit screening and fundraiser." - As posted on EmergingCinemas.com on 4/08/2011.
