STORY: "Harry Potter's sixth year at Hogwarts turns out to be quite the exciting year. First off is the arrival of a new teacher at Hogwarts, Horace Slughorn, who is a bit more useful to Harry than he realizes. Next, Harry obtains a Potions book which used to be belong to the very mysterious Half-Blood Prince. Harry finds that the Half-Blood Prince's ancient scribbles are written along the margins of almost every page, giving Harry advice on how to improve greatly on his Potions work, and also teaching him a few helpful (and dangerous) spells along the way."
"Amidst this, Harry is starting private lessons with Professor Dumbledore, during which Harry learns the dark secrets of Voldemort's past, hoping that they could use these secrets to find a way to defeat him."
"Harry's year gets even more stressful with the suspicious actions of Draco Malfoy, who has been sneaking around the school doing, so Harry assumes, Voldemort's bidding. Harry quickly becomes determined, and slightly obsessed, to find out exactly what Malfoy has been up to and putting and end to it." [next section removed to avoid spoilers]
"Throughout all the school drama, however, the obvious darkness of Voldemort's impending rise to power is always apparent. The incredible action-packed climax is sure to leave the audience stunned and, inevitably, prove that you shouldn't trust everybody who you think is good and also prove that not everyone can manage to survive." - Written by joeb154, thefragile-1, Potterfanatic1292, cooltodarama, & DarthBill on IMDB.com)
STARRING: Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, Alan Rickman, Michael Gambon and others.
STORY: "...An adaptation of Colette's 1920 novel of the same name, the tale unfurls in late 19th Century Paris - La Belle Époque - where numerous courtesans (or female companions of noblemen who occupied the royal courts) have worked their ways up through the ranks of high society. Two retired courtesans, Charlotte Peloux (Kathy Bates) and Lea (Michelle Pfeiffer) meet for some routine gossip; Lea then meets Charlotte's hedonistic, playboy son, nicknamed "Cheri" (Rupert Friend) and a passionate, erotic affair blossoms for the next six years between Lea and Cheri. Eventually, Charlotte makes an aggressive attempt to interfere with the situation by setting up an arranged marriage between Cheri and the virginal, 18-year-old Emee (Felicity Jones), the daughter of another ex-courtesan, Marie-Laure (Iben Hjejle). Lea feels irritated, and responds by seeking out young male lovers during a vacation in Biarritz, but the attached Cheri is not far behind, and in seemingly no time at all the two resume their bedroom liaisons." - Written by Nathan Southern, All Movie Guide (as posted on Fandango.com)
STARRING: Michelle Pfeiffer ("Batman Returns"), Kathy Bates ("Misery"), and others.
REVIEW: "The film is brisk, snappy and packed with Oscar Wilde-style one-liners ("I can't criticise his character mainly because he doesn't seem to have one," Lea observes). This fast, smart chatter keeps us entertained as we wait for the real story to kick in. But this is the real story; it's a film about a series of small events that only hint at something bigger... Technically, the film is spotless, with gorgeous cinematography, colourful costumes, detailed sets and a marvellous Alexandre Desplat score... In the end, it's a remarkable observation on how romantic fantasy can never live up to reality. And how the taste of youth is never quite satisfying. STORY: "A Greek tour guide named Georgia (My Big Fat Greek Wedding star Nia Vardalos) attempts to recapture her kefi (Greek for "mojo") by guiding a ragtag group of tourists around Greece and showing them the beauty of her native land in this sun-soaked comedy from director Donald Petrie (Miss Congeniality, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days). Along the way, she manages to open their eyes to wonders of an exotic foreign land while beginning to see the world through a new set of eyes in the process. Richard Dreyfuss, Harland Williams, and Rachel Dratch co-star". Written by Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide (as posted on Fandango.com)

REVIEW: "“My Life in Ruins” is a stellar romantic comedy where ancient history and love meet. A Greek tour guide named Georgia (My Big Fat Greek Wedding star Nia Vardalos) attempts to recapture her mojo by guiding a typical group of tourists around Greece and showing them the beauty of her native land through her eyes. Only problem is she is kind of boring and does not know how to enjoy life... After several rough days on the road, Irv bonds with Georgia and helps her to relax and open herself to enjoy life and possibly find love. Once Georgia relaxes you see her weight is lifted. She begins to morph into another woman. Her tourists begin to love her and she manages to open their eyes to wonders of an exotic foreign land while she is beginning to see the world through a new set of eyes. Through these eyes she begins to see Poupi (Alexis Georgoulis), the bus driver in a new light. The two have majestic chemistry and it is not bad that Poupi looks like a Greek God... 'My Life in Ruins' was a pleasant surprise. I had butterflies watching Georgia open herself to love and finding it in the most unexpected places. A warm welcome goes to Alexis Georgoulis who has a break out performance in this film. The comical stunts offered by the tourists, including former Saturday Night Live star Rachel Dratch, were dead on. Director Donald Petrie does a fantastic job, and lives up to the standards of his previous work in “Miss Congeniality” and “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days”. Not just a chick flick, all will enjoy this fun tourist ride and all the humor that comes along with it. Pack your bags and head to the ruins, you won’t be disappointed." - Written by Jolene Mendez (Entertainment Spectrum) on JoReviews.com
